There have been so many blessings during these past few years. We have met so many incredible people, some who are dancing with cancer and others whose hearts have been so touched that they have given of their time, talents, love and, yes, even money.
This spring, the 2nd grade teachers at Lakeview Academy put together a Walk-a-thon for Cassie's benefit. Joan Loveless headed this fun event. Cassie was feeling well on the day it was held, so she walked several times around the field with her special teacher, Michele Parks. We were amazed at the love and generosity shown to her and to our family. So many people helped with the planning and running of this fundraiser. Thank you all so much!
Last week Al Stopa and Leann Peterson (what amazing, high energy people) from Lakeview held a fundraiser in conjunction with an attempt at breaking the world record for a Squirt Gun Fight. Wow! We all got soaked! There were over 1400 people who came out to support this crazy event. Cassie met two world record holders, the woman with the longest fingernails, and the man who blew up the most balloons in an hour. Cassie was interviewed by a reporter from the Daily Herald. We also met David Osmond who is featuring Cassie on his UPLEJ website. We don't know how to thank everyone who helped with this event, there were so many friends and people we don't even know.
